Camilat's Art Gallery
This project is called Pop art portrait. We were to choose a person’s picture and then drew it and paint it in a canvas in a pop art way. I decided to do Lady Gaga because she is my favorite artist and I admire her very much. She is so unique and special. The materials I used were her picture, a canvas, and acrylics. I spend so much time working on her, especially on her hand. I put lots of effort into it. I decided to paint in the red tones because I can relate Gaga with that color. I wish someday she is able to see this art piece done by me.
To be honest, I feel very happy and satisfied with my portrait. I spent a lot of time working on her and I did my best while painting. The most difficult part to do was her hand; I tried so hard and finally got something that wasn’t so bad. I had fun painting all of it, but the funnier part was her hair because is so wild and cool. My weakness probably was the hand but at the end it’s not so bad. I can tell that my strength was the whole canvas together with all its “flaws” and everything it looks really good. I am proud of it and I hope Gaga get to see it someday!

This is a collage about me. I used my sketch book, magazine’s pictures and markers. I pasted those images for different reasons. The word Niagara is because I want to visit that place before I die, it is in my bucket list. Also, Paris, it is somewhere I’d die to go, that another item in my bucket list. Number 17 is significant because is an age during adolescence which is the most beautiful stage of life, also I long to be17 because the I will go to college. The picture of Audrey Hepburn is there because I think she was such a beautiful woman and her movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s is my favorite movie. The picture of the girl snorkeling it is there because I have done that and it is amazing. I pasted a beach picture because my dad lives on the beach. The confidence is there because is something I have and makes be strong. The Oreo picture is there because Oreos and peanut butter is my favorite food. The word life is there because I know it is the most precious gift and I enjoy every single second of it. There’s a heart that says my name and the word friends (that represent family too) because without those things in my life I could not live, they make my life worth it. The Hello Kitty and the word especial are there because I consider HK a symbol for my childhood which was really important in my life. The cd covers are symbolize my love for music. Also, the image of the Blackberry represent that I love technology. The picture with chocolates represents my love for chocolates and sweets. In general, that is me in some few images. The goal of this project was to get to know myself better.

Picture. It consisted on cutting out a part of a picture form a magazine and
with our imagination, completing it in a pie of paper. I used magazines, cardboard,
and crayons. The picture I used is of the singer Julieta Venegas. I really like
her music. She is in a hot air balloon so I decided to get creative and draw is
if she has reached a very high place on the sky. I pretended that she is so
high up that she is near heaven, a place where dreams, hope, love, and peace
are close enough for her to reach them. She looks up for to them and she
believes in them. That is the story I came up while I was in my inspirational moment
creating my finish the picture project.
I felt inspired while doing this art piece. I made up a whole story for it. Also, I decided to use crayons, which I don’t usually work with, but it turned out really good and fun. I consider that strength while doing it, was to making up the story as I painted so it was spontaneous and good. The only thing I consider is missing is probably a little more color, but it nice the way it is now too. I should practice exercise like this more often then I would get creative and let imagination flow.
